Dell Ingram-Walker, Longtime Healthcare Leader at McLane Children’s Death and Obituary

Dell Ingram-Walker, a respected healthcare leader and longtime executive at McLane Children’s Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, has passed away, prompting an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and the wider medical community.

Based in Temple, Texas, Ingram-Walker dedicated more than two decades to advancing pediatric healthcare. She joined the organization in 1999 as an administrative intern and steadily rose through the ranks, eventually serving as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Her career path—from financial analyst to overseeing pediatric specialties—has been widely cited as a model of leadership built on experience and commitment.

Colleagues describe her as a steady and compassionate presence. “She understood both the operational side of healthcare and the human side of caring for children and families,” one coworker shared.

Her academic background, including a degree in Health Care Management from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Texas A&M University–Central Texas, helped shape her strategic approach to hospital administration.

Healthcare experts note that leaders like Ingram-Walker play a crucial role in maintaining quality care amid growing demands on pediatric services. Her legacy, they say, will endure through the systems she helped build and the lives she impacted.
