Lehigh County – Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania have identified the teenager who died following a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning along Interstate 78 in Lehigh County. Officials say the victim, Tealson L. Herrlin, 18, was a resident of Upper Milford Township.
According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Herrlin was pronounced dead at 6:12 a.m. Thursday. An autopsy later determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, and the manner of death was ruled accidental by Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
Investigators with the Pennsylvania State Police say the crash occurred shortly after 5:10 a.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 54.1 in Lower Macungie Township. Authorities reported that Herrlin’s 2005 gray Ford Mustang struck a roadside traffic sign before leaving the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch along the right side of the highway.
The case remains under investigation by state police, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the county’s forensic team. Officials are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or captured footage from the area to contact the state police station in Fogelsville.
