Ontko, who was originally from Cleveland, died early Saturday morning after suffering complications from a ruptured ulcer, according to a message shared by his mother, Brenda Boulton. The unexpected medical emergency has deeply affected those close to him, with loved ones expressing gratitude for the widespread support they have received.

The former linebacker played college football at California Polytechnic State University, where he was part of the Cal Poly Mustangs football program. Before his collegiate career, Ontko attended Walsh Jesuit High School, where he developed the work ethic and discipline that carried into his athletic and academic pursuits.
