Mikey “T-Rex” Gray Obituary
Mikey Gray — affectionately known to fans as “T-Rex” has died.
Team officials confirmed Gray’s passing in a heartfelt social media tribute that has since drawn an outpouring of condolences from teammates, colleagues, and supporters.
Gray joined the Pacers Power Pack in 2018 and spent eight seasons energizing crowds at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Known for his infectious enthusiasm and crowd-pleasing performances, he quickly became a fan favorite and a valued member of the game-day experience.
“We are heartbroken to share that our teammate and friend, Mikey Gray… recently passed away,” the Power Pack said in a statement. “He loved our fans and meant so much to all of us. We’ll miss you, T-Rex.”
Colleague Patrick Cowherd wrote that Gray “immediately won me over from the first day he walked in our gym,” adding that the loss “hurts.” Another friend, Bobby Swift, shared a brief but emotional farewell: “You will be missed my boy.”
According to family information shared publicly, Gray is survived by his brother Daniel Beard, sisters Mariah and Lauryn Gray, and his mother, Larie Stewart Gray.
He had studied at Andrews University in Maryland and previously worked at Patriot Hardwood Floors.
For many Pacers fans, Gray’s presence was synonymous with the joy of live basketball. As one supporter commented online, his energy “brought smiles to the whole building.”
