Bryce Jordan Reed, a beloved son, father, and friend died on February 9, 2026, , has left family and loved ones searching for words to express their grief. He was 25.
Reed, born March 20, 2000, was a lifelong North Charleston resident and a former student of Voorhees University.
“My heart is shattered,” his father, Lealather Mayers III, shared in a widely circulated post.
“You will always be my joy, and my greatest blessing.” Similar sentiments echoed across social media as classmates, mentors, and neighbors shared memories spanning Reed’s childhood to his early adulthood.
“I watched him grow from a boy to a young man,” one family friend wrote. “No matter what, he smiled and kept his head up. I was so proud of the man he became.”
